Experience the Joy of Flight - For a Great Cause
Take to the skies and support your community! Our Fundraising Flights are short scenic experiences that give you a breathtaking view of the Fraser Coast or other regional areas - all while raising funds to help regional patients access critical medical care. We are hoping to raise $20,000 with each event so our goal is at least 140 passengers!
These flights are conducted under CASA’s special exemption (EX49/25) and operated by approved volunteer pilots. 100% of the proceeds support Community Flights' free patient transport service.

🛫 What You Need to Know
- Flights are not commercial flights – they’re conducted under a CASA-approved charitable exemption as a fundraising activity for Community Flights. The exemption is available here (CASA EX49/25 – Community Flights Ltd – Charitable Fundraising – Exemption and Directions Instrument 2025 – Federal Register of Legislation)
- The flight is not governed by the same level of oversight, and is not subject to the same safety standards, that would be in place for a commercial passenger-carrying operation.
- Although the flight is subject to a range of safety conditions, the flight is, therefore, associated with a lower level of oversight, and a higher level of safety risk, than would be the case for a commercial passenger-carrying operation
- In granting the approval for these flights to be conducted CASA put in place conditions to preserve of a level of aviation safety that is at least acceptable.
- All Flights are conducted as joy flights with one of our awesome volunteer pilots
- All flights will depart and return from the same aerodrome and be conducted in good weather
- Flights will be scheduled during dedicated events over a three day period
- Flights can be booked as either a:
- Short flight (~15 min) – $150
- Long flight (~30 min) – $250
- All passengers must sign a Passenger Advice & Acknowledgement prior to flying
🎯 Why Fundraising Flights Matter
Each fundraising flight helps us fund free medical transport for Queenslanders living in remote and regional communities. Our goal is to raise $54,000, which will double the number of flights we can provide to patients who need to travel for treatment.
